Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Tony Phelps, Candidate for Winchelsea Ward

Transparency is a critical issue, and one I'm happy to drive for and support. Important questions have been asked several times, which I have repeated below for broader access.

Let me know if there's something else I should add to the list - see my contact details.

Member of a political party?

No, neverhave been.

Where do you live and how long there?

On the edge of Winchelsea (Torquay side), moving here from working in Vanuatu 17 years ago.

What’s your community involvement?

Lieutenant volunteer firefighter in Wurdale Brigade (15 years), Chair of Winchelsea Community House (6 years), Secretary of The Winchelsea Star community newspaper (11 years), principal in the Winchelsea Community Action Plan, sound system for Carols/ANZAC Day/Remembrance Day, sound effects for Winchelsea Repertory Society plays, petitioned for the restoration & reopening of school sports hall, prior member & Treasurer for Winchelsea Lions Club, sponsor of OCR FM & Winchelsea Lions Club websites. What preferences are you recommending?

I believe each voter should make up their own minds for their order of preference. Assess each candidate (there aren't many) and rank who would be best across ALL the issues Council deals with and who would work best with the other Councillors.

How are you financing the campaign?

Personal funds so far - open to no-strings-attached donations (here) though.
