Hesse Rural Health going strong

At the AGM for Hesse Rural Health last Wednesday night, great to hear they've achieved both so much over the last year and are also in a healthy financial situation.

Guest speaker was Lana Purcell CEO of Feed Me Surf Coast - a very inspiring background, and an incredible operation with no government funding. A critical takeaway is that they are as much about rescuing food from waste as people struggling - so EVERYone is welcome to call in and help dispose of the excess food they receive. Grab whatever you want, and offer to pay what you like at the checkout (or pay nothing at all, no questions asked).

And it sounds like the new Op Shop is continuing to happen. Currently ensconced in the sheds next to the recycling-refund machine on Harding Street, the new Op Shop will be built in the heritage-listed old bakery building near the Winchelsea Medical Clinic. Hopefully construction will begin next year, it's been quite some time since the original Op Shop burnt down!

Well done to all the award winners, a very dedicated and capable staff.
